Scott Methven is one of the most popular musicians on the planet. Known as the 15th Queen’s Piper since 1873, Scott Methven plays at royal occasions and public events. But his wife was diagnosed with cancer and he had to take time off to look after her.
However, he was able to play at various events and still maintain an endearing friendship with the monarch.
Scott Methven was born in Stirling and served in the army for over 25 years. His connection with the Queen dates back to the time Queen Victoria first heard bagpipe music during a visit to the Scottish Highlands.
Scott Methven has met many famous people over the years, including Tom Cruise, President Obama and the late Prime Minister David Cameron.

Queen Elizabeth III bred horses for the Royal Family. More than 25 horses were trained at the royal stables for every season, with many of them winning more than 1,600 races. The Queen was often pictured riding horses at Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral.

She was also given a horse by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1969, named Burmese. She wore it to Trooping the Colour for the next 18 years.
