Wowgr8 formed the EarthGang rap duo together with a fellow American rapper, Johnny Venus in 2008 after they completed high school.
According to Johnny, he and Wowgr8 had already met on a field trip in 9th grade back in high school, where he later approached Eian to form a music duo. Fortunately for the two, they were both enthusiasts of rap and hip hop and they had both been avid fans of such music, growing up.
According to Venus in an interview in 2011, he explained that the name came brusquely in mind one day and it embodies what the duo is made of and why they do what they do.
He added that it is for the people and by the people and their music is influenced by the conscious and subconscious and they make it to influence the like. The duo’s debut EP was released on January 26th 2010, and the mixtape was titled ‘The Better Party’.
They recorded their first full-length project in a mass of studio spaces and that included dorm rooms at Hampton University. In 2010, the duo started touring the United States, performing at festivals including the A3C Festival in Atlanta.
Intermittently, they released singles and in November 2010 their song, “Miss the Show” was released.
They started performing at several places including the Black Fest at Stanford University, and they performed again at the A3C Festival in Atlanta in 2013.
Since 2013 to date, the duo has never disappointed in releasing singles, albums and EPs, which have undoubtedly crossed the borders of the United States, filling Wowgr8’s pockets with some huge money.
